Project scientist
Silvan Leinss received the Diploma degree (2008) in Physics at University of Konstanz, Germany, in THz time-domain spectroscopy. From 2009 to 2010 he studied coherent light scattering and Bose-Einstein-condensation at University of Konstanz and ETH Zurich, Switzerland. In 2016, he received the Ph.D. degree from ETH Zurich in radar remote sensing of snow, awarded with the Helmut-Rott prize. After being a post-doc/senior assistant at ETH Zurich (2016-2021) and post-doc at LISTIC, Université de Savoie Mont Blanc in Annecy, France, he joined Gamma Remote Sensing AG, where he is primarily involved in hardware development of ground-based radar systems.
His research interests include electromagnetic scattering properties, radar interferometry and polarimetry, snow pack modelling, offset-tracking methods tailored to multi-temporal data stacks and application-driven development of radar processing algorithms and hardware.
