Dr. Tazio Strozzi

Senior project scientist

Tazio Strozzi received the M.S. (1993) and Ph.D. (1996) degrees in physics from the University of Bern, Switzerland, for his experimental and theoretical studies on the backscattering characteristics of snow and vegetation. He has been with Gamma Remote Sensing, Switzerland, since 1996, where he is responsible for the development of radar remote sensing applications and is manager of a number of research and commercial projects. From 1996 to 1998 he was part-time physics teacher at the Highschool of Bellinzona, Switzerland. From 1999 to 2001 he worked as part-time visiting scientist at the University of Wales, Swansea, UK. His current activities include SAR and SAR interferometry for landuse applications (including forest, urban areas, snow cover and hazard mapping) and differential SAR interferometry for subsidence monitoring, glacier motion estimation and landslide and permafrost surveying.
